Before you start
MyCare is a personal health-journaling tool — not a doctor and not a medical device. It can help you track how you're doing and get more out of your appointments, but it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
If you think you may be having a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) right away. Do not use MyCare for emergencies.
Getting started
Setting up your MyCare account takes about a minute.
- Go to app.mycare.life and register your account.
- Enter your email and create a password.
- Fill out the requirements in the registration form.
- Start your 7-day free trial. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
Tip: Use the email you check most often — that's where MyCare sends reminders and security notifications.
Under 18? A parent or guardian must approve your account before you can subscribe. You'll land on a "waiting for approval" screen, and we'll send reminders until it's approved.
Your dashboard
When you sign in, you'll land on your dashboard. It's the home base for everything in MyCare. From here you can:
- See your most recent journal entries at a glance.
- See patterns MyCare has spotted in your journal.
- Open Ask MyCare AI to ask questions about your health history.
- Jump to your upcoming visits and visit prep.
The left-hand menu is always there for quick navigation: Journal, Documents, Recordings, Visits, Caregivers, and Settings.
Daily journaling
Journaling is the heart of MyCare. Even short entries add up to a useful picture of how you're doing over time.
How to add an entry
- Open Journal from the left-hand menu.
- Tap + New entry.
- Choose how you'd like to journal — you can talk (record a voice note) or write directly in the entry.
- Add a picture if you'd like — for example, a rash, a meal, or a medication label — then save.
What to log
- Symptoms: headaches, pain, fatigue, nausea, anything new or changing.
- Medications: name, dose, when you took it, and any side effects.
Tip: You don't have to be perfect. Even three short entries a week is enough for MyCare to start spotting patterns.
Ask MyCare AI
Ask MyCare AI only ever looks at your own data — your journal entries, documents, and recordings — to help you make sense of what's going on. It works in two ways.
Patterns surfaced for you
As you journal, MyCare quietly looks for patterns — for example, "headaches tend to happen on days with under 6 hours of sleep," or "energy is lower on the days after taking X." These show up as cards on your dashboard, so you don't have to ask for them.
Ask in plain language
Open Ask MyCare AI from the left-hand menu and ask questions like:
- "How many migraines did I have this month?"
- "What were the side effects after I started the new medication?"
- "Summarize my last three weeks for my doctor."
You'll get an answer using only your data, with citations to the entries it pulled from so you can double-check.
Heads up: AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. Always confirm anything important with a qualified healthcare provider.
Uploading documents
You can upload lab results, after-visit summaries, imaging reports, insurance cards, and more. MyCare will keep them in one place and let Ask MyCare AI reference them.
- Open Documents from the menu.
- Tap Upload and pick a PDF, image (JPG/PNG), or snap a photo with your phone.
- Add a title (e.g., "Bloodwork — March 2026") and an optional category like Labs, Imaging, or After-visit notes.
- MyCare will read the document and offer a short plain-language summary you can keep or edit.
Your plan includes unlimited uploads, so don't worry about saving everything that might be useful later.
Documents and records are always sorted newest first, so the most recent items are right at the top.
Visit recordings & transcripts
It's hard to remember everything a doctor says. MyCare can record your appointment (with consent) and turn it into a clean, searchable transcript and summary.
Recording a visit
- Open My Companion and start recording.
- Let your provider know you'd like to record the visit and get their okay. (Recording laws vary — see the safety note below.)
- Tap Stop when the conversation ends.
- MyCare will automatically transcribe the audio and produce a short summary highlighting key points, medications, and follow-ups.
After the visit
- Read or search the full transcript.
- Save action items into your journal so you don't forget them.
Important: Always ask before recording. Some places require everyone in the conversation to consent.
Caregivers
MyCare keeps patients and caregivers as separate accounts. As a patient, you can invite someone you trust to help — and you stay in full control of exactly what they can see and do.
Inviting a caregiver
- Go to Settings and open Caregiver access.
- Tap Invite caregiver and enter their email.
-
Choose their access level:
-
Basic Access
- Patient overview with health trends and mood
- Health insights and family history
- Caregiver AI chat for caregiving questions
-
Full Access
- Everything in Basic Access
- View documents, recordings, and transcriptions
- Complete journal entries access
- Record live audio, upload documents, and add notes on your behalf
-
Basic Access
- They'll get an email with a secure invite link. When they accept, their access is locked to the invited email address.
Field-level journal visibility
You decide which parts of your journal a caregiver can see — sharing is controlled field by field, so you only reveal what you're comfortable with.
For caregivers
- Your caregiver dashboard lists every patient you support — just click into the person you want to help.
- Use the caregiver AI chat to ask questions, with saved multi-conversation history, a translate button, and patient mood emojis shown in journals.
- Store Power-of-Attorney documents and message per relationship.
You can change permissions or remove a caregiver at any time from the same screen.
Family plans
A family plan lets you manage your household's health together while keeping everyone's privacy intact.
Setting up your family
- Open Family from Settings to view your family tree.
- Add members and invite them to create their own linked accounts.
- Member details like name, gender, and date of birth sync across linked accounts.
Sharing & privacy
- Per-section sharing: each person picks exactly which record sections (journals and more) they share, and approves before anything is visible.
- Owner controls: only the plan owner can add or invite new members, and owner-only sections stay hidden from invited members.
- Children: kids get their own full account and control their own journal sharing. An under-18 only needs a parent's approval before subscribing if they want their own Individual account.
- Children's records access: when you add a child to your plan, the billing account owner automatically gets access to that child's records — everything except their journal. The owner can grant their spouse access to the children of their choice. This access is automatically removed when a child turns 18; after that, they can request access to that person directly to get it back.
Managing members
- Owners can remove members at any time; removed members can be re-invited and rejoin later.
- You'll be notified by email if a member leaves or deletes their account, with options to re-invite or remove.
On a family plan, secondary members are included at no extra cost; additional children beyond your plan's limit add a small monthly fee. A child only counts toward your plan's limit while they are under 18.
Account & subscription
Manage your plan, payment, and profile from Settings.
- Profile: update your name, email, and password.
- Plan: choose the coverage that fits your household at signup — Individual ($9/mo), You + Children ($15/mo), You + Spouse ($15/mo), Family ($19/mo), or a Generational plan ($35–$45/mo) — and switch plans anytime. Plans with children include up to 4, then $3/mo per extra child.
- Billing: update your payment method and view receipts.
Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. See the billing terms for the full details.
Deleting your account
If you'd like to delete your account, you'll complete a quick two-step confirmation — type your email address and the word DELETE — so it never happens by accident.
Tips & help
Get the most out of MyCare
- Keep entries short. One sentence is fine — consistency matters more than detail.
- Log soon after it happens. Memory fades fast; even a quick rating is gold.
- Use Ask MyCare AI before appointments. Ask "what should I bring up at my next visit?"
